Silver Spur Outfitters & Lodge Delivers Prime Elk Hunting Opportunities in the Backcountry of Idaho

The majestic elk population in Idaho remains plentiful, and the backcountry is a true sportsmen’s paradise. The Idaho Fish and Game works diligently to manage the elk population in our great state of Idaho so that sportsmen will continue to have the highest quality hunting opportunities. The hunter success rate has not changed much over the last two decades, which is a clear sign that the effort put forth by the Idaho Fish and Game, landowners and managers to maintain a healthy elk population is working.

Hunt Elk in Idaho

The backcountry of Idaho is still your best bet when you are ready to rise up to the challenge of big game hunting!  Elk is a favorite among sportsmen to hunt for due to its deliciously lean meat that is also very high in protein.  Silver Spur Outfitters & Lodge, located in right in the heart of elk country, sits on hundreds of square miles of prime hunting ground, in the historic gold mining town of Dixie. At Silver Spur Lodge, we know our land and its terrain well; we consistently monitor our hunting ground by scouting and locating game so that when you visit, your hunt will be successful.

Plan Your Next Elk Hunt with Silver Spur Outfitters & Lodge at Your Side

Silver Spur Lodge offers a variety of elk hunting trips for you to choose from. They come fully equipped with tents that have wood burning stoves, include a dining tent outfitted and designated for cooking and mealtime, as well as a full time cook who will prepare 3 meals for you daily. You will be accompanied by an expert guide who is highly skilled and knowledgeable about the backcountry – he will work hard and employ the best strategies to get the elk you want.

Silver Spur Lodge also offers deluxe drop camps, which are also 9 days long and outfitted the same way, but are unguided. You will have radio contact with the lodge so that when your game is down, Silver Spur will send a packer to pick up your game and transport it back to the meat house or cold storage, depending on the season.

Silver Spur also has a guided lodge hunt, which offers all the comforts of home in the main lodge, and includes a hot breakfast before you head out to hunt and dinner upon your return each day.
