From Lewiston or Boise take Highway 95 to Grangeville. From Lewiston take Highway 95 to Grangeville. Take Main St. (RT. 13) through town and at the intersection that has Tackett's Saw Service and the Nez Perce Forest Service Headquarters turn right on Mt. Idaho Rd. At the bend of the road (old outdoor movie theatre) bear left.
Follow the road to the bottom of Mt. Idaho grade.
Go straight on Highway 14 toward Elk City to a sawmill on the right. This is about 40 miles. Past the sawmill take a right, and stay on the paved road 222 toward Dixie you will come to the Red River Ranger Station in about 19 miles. bear right at the fork in the road at the range station. We have a sign here. 

The road is paved for 12 miles more than turns to gravel for the last 4 miles.
to the lovely old town of Dixie. Silver Spur Outfitters & Lodge Inc. is located at the far end of town on the right. It takes about 2 hrs. driving time from Grangeville. 

The road is plowed in winter right to the lodge.
